United States District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Dale Ho dismissed on Wednesday the case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams as the Department of Justice (DoJ) previously asked.
However, the judge decided to dismiss the process "with prejudice," meaning that the DoJ will not be able to file the same charges against Adams in the future. The department called for the case to be ruled as "without prejudice" so that it could start a new one.
In September 2024, Adams was charged with bribery, fraud, and soliciting foreign campaign donations because he allegedly accepted gifts and other types of gain from certain Turkish individuals who wanted him to facilitate the process of the Middle Eastern country opening a consulate in Manhattan without a fire inspection.
