The Jerusalem District Court agreed on Sunday to cancel next week's hearings in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's corruption trial due to his prostate surgery.

The court noted the hearings are set to resume on January 6.

Earlier, Netanyahu's lawyer submitted a request for the postponement, noting the prime minister is set to be hospitalized for several days after an operation to remove his prostate.
