Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported on Thursday that two Israeli soldiers lost their lives and eight others sustained injuries when a crane collapsed on them due to strong winds in northern Gaza the previous night.

Following the incident, Army Radio conveyed that a decision was made to dismantle all cranes in the northern region of the enclave due to adverse weather conditions that led to the accident.

One of the fallen soldiers has been identified as Sgt. First Class (res.) Nadav Cohen, 21 years old, who served with the Golani Brigade's 51st Battalion, from Beit Hanan. The IDF mentioned that the identity of the second soldier would be disclosed at a later time.
