The cryptocurrency exchange and derivative trading platform BitMEX is in the process of finding a buyer, Coindesk reported on Thursday, citing two people familiar with the matter.

According to the sources, the platform commissioned the investment bank Broadhaven Capital Partners, LLC, to help it in the process.

BitMEX pleaded guilty to violating the Bank Secrecy Act by not providing its users with an anti-money laundering service in 2022 and 2024.
