United States Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said on Thursday he held a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during which he expressed his support for Israel to "destroy Hamas."
The Republican lawmaker said in a post on X that he spoke with Netanyahu about his "unwavering support for Israel's efforts to bring home hostages, destroy Hamas, and deter escalation" and added: On Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for our nations' strong friendship and for the US and Israeli servicemembers in harm's way who defend our freedoms."
