Moscow and the United Nations ratified the necessity to strengthen the comprehensive implementation of the Istanbul agreements concerning the exportation of food from Ukraine, said the Russian Foreign Ministry in a press release on Friday.
The remarks come as part of a meeting held by Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Russian Foreign Minister Serguei Lavrov (pictured). Both parties also discussed "the export of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers."
Russia and Ukraine signed last July the UN initiative on global access to Ukrainian food products and Russian food and fertilizers at a ceremony in Istanbul where Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Mr. Guterres were present.
