Cuban leader backs Lula against Israel's persona non grata decision

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel (pictured) expressed solidarity with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who was declared persona non grata in Israel for condemning the Israeli military operation in Gaza.

Diaz-Canel commended Lula's courage, stating that he "applauds and admires" his bravery. "You will always be on the right side of history," the Cuban president stated.

On February 18, Lula drew parallels between the Israeli bombing in Gaza and the crimes committed by Nazi Germany.
