Kieran Culkin claimed the first award of the night, having won the best supporting actor Oscar at the 97th Academy Awards for his performance in "A Real Pain." It was his first Oscar nomination.
Culkin was up against Yura Borisov, Edward Norton, Guy Pearce and Jeremy Strong. Meanwhile, Zoe Saldana took home the best supporting actress Oscar for her widely praised role in "Emilia Perez," the film that claimed the best original song Oscar for "El Mal." Saldana bested Ariana Grande, Isabella Rossellini, Monica Barbaro and Felicity Jones in the supporting actress race.
Additionally, Gints Zilbalodis' "Flow" won the best animated feature Oscar, marking the first-ever Oscar win for Latvia, while "In the Shadow of the Cypress" by Iranian filmmakers Shirin Sohani and Hossein Molayemi, claimed the best animated short film Oscar.
