The Czech Republic Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Friday a ban on all cross-border travels "regardless of which country (green, orange or red)" one is coming from.
The closing of the country's borders is scheduled to come into effect at midnight on Friday. The decision arrived amidst raised concerns in Europe in regards to the rapid spread of coronavirus mutant variant, first discovered in the United Kingdom.
Among other European Union countries, restricting non-essential foreign travels are Portugal and Norway, while France has announced on Friday forbidding relocation to and from non-EU countries, starting Sunday.
