The Czech Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that it secured additional funding to supply Ukraine with "much-needed large-caliber ammunition" which comes from frozen assets of the Russian Central Bank.

Claiming confidentiality in the treatment of military information on the armament to be acquired, the country avoided giving more information on the part of the €1.4 billion frozen in the European Union that it will be receiving.

"I am glad that the Czech Republic will participate in this new form of military support for Ukraine … I can say that thanks to the use of revenues from frozen Russian finances, released by the European Union, we will be able to supply Ukraine with several hundred thousand pieces of large-caliber ammunition," Czech Defense Minister Jana Cernochova said.
