European stock exchanges continued to climb after the opening bell on Tuesday, with London's FTSE 100 turning to gains after starting the session in the red territory.
The report by the Bank of England revealed a modest increase in the number of mortgage approvals in the country, seemingly driving the index above the flatline. Meanwhile, the prices of natural gas in the region slumped by 27%.
The DAX soared 245 points or 1.88% at 11:59 am CET. London's FTSE 100 edged up by 0.13% a minute later, and the CAC 40 rose by 1.16%. The euro advanced by 0.38% compared to the greenback, to change hands to $1.00336 at 12:06 pm CET. At the same time, the pound sterling gained 0.19% against the American dollar, selling at $1.17293.
