Putin: West failed to divide Russian society

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday that the West failed to divide the Russian society despite the "sanctions aggression" imposed upon Russia and its citizens.

According to the president, the Russian people showed "unity" like "never before," emphasizing that attempts to destroy the society from within have failed. Also, Putin noted that all mechanisms used to support its citizens in the face of sanctions should work "smoothly" at all levels.

During the board meeting at the Prosecutor General's Office, the president stated, that the Russian Federal Security Service stopped a "terrorist group" that planned attacks targeting prominent Russian journalists.
