Death toll from Vietnam typhoon up to 233

The death toll from the floods and landslides caused by Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam climbed to 233 on Friday, according to state broadcaster VTV.

The outlet noted another 48 bodies were recovered from a small village in northern Lao Cai province and stressed that 39 more are still missing in the area.

Across the whole country, over 100 people are reported as missing in the aftermath of the storm, while more than 800 have been injured during the storm and its impact.
