Death toll in Texas floods grows to 34

The death toll from the flash floods in central Texas rose to 34, including 14 children, according to Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha.

Leitha stated that officials were working to locate the 27 people still missing from Cam Mystic, as well as to identify some of the deceased.

Texas Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd said that "the entire river is being searched from the northernmost impact all the way as we run down," adding that they were using air assets as well as boats and ground crews to conduct searches as the floodwaters recede.
