Delta Air Lines Inc. CEO Ed Bastian (pictured) noted on Wednesday that United States President-elect Donald Trump approach to regulation could be "a breath of fresh air."
Bastian told reporters ahead of Delta's investor day that Trump vowed during his campaign to take a "fresh look" at regulation and bureaucracy after the outgoing President Joe Biden's administration adopted a set of rules intended to protect costumers, including the one that requires airlines to refund passengers' money automatically when they cancel a flight, which was strongly criticized by the airline industry.
The executive stressed that the sector experienced "a level of overreach" in the years of Biden's administration.
