The organizers of the Diamond League, a series of elite track and field athletic events, announced on Friday they have moved the events scheduled to take place in July and August in Shenzhen and Shanghai due to the ongoing restrictions imposed in China to curb the spread of COVID-19.
"The Wanda Diamond League looks forward to hosting events in China again from 2023 onwards," the organizers added. Instead of those two competitions, a substitute one will take place in Poland.
The meetings comprising the 2022 Diamond League will be held throughout May, June, July, August, and September in twelve countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and France.
