Disney names Gorman as Succession Planning Committee chair

The Walt Disney Company announced on Wednesday that board member James P. Gorman has been appointed as the new chair of its Succession Planning Committee.

"James is a highly respected leader, and we've asked him to serve as the new Chair of the Succession Planning Committee given his deep succession planning experience and long-term strategic mentality," said Mark G. Parker, who most recently acted as the Committee's Chair.

The committee's goal is to advise the Board and plan for a leadership change that aligns with Disney's long-term strategic objectives.
