Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Monday that the Donetsk region is the "epicenter" of conflict, stressing that Russian forces register hundreds of losses every day.
"In general, our forces are in a state of active defense - in some areas of the east and south we are slowly suppressing the enemy," Zelensky said in his evening address, adding that Moscow's recent "drone terror" only resulted in "new aid to Ukraine."
Previously, the British Ministry of Defense revealed that Russia removed the commander of one of its five military districts earlier in the week for failing to defend the northern part of the Donetsk region.
