Dow drops 200 points on Ukraine tensions

Markets on Wall Street turned negative on Friday as investors focused on the tensions in Ukraine. Over the past few days, pro-Russian rebels and the Ukrainian government have accused each other of attacks in eastern Ukraine. The latest incident occurred this afternoon when a car explosion rocked Donetsk. Meanwhile, civilians from the region started evacuating to Russia.

The Dow Jones slid 0.66% or 225 points at 12:09 pm ET. Intel down 5.88%, led the losses.

The Nasdaq 100 plunged 1.04% at 12:10 pm ET with Pinduoduo and MercadoLibre diving more than 6%.

The S&P 500 fell 0.70% at 12:10 pm ET. The worst performer was PPL Corp whose shares plummeted 7.46%.
