Dow drops 230 points after Fed holds rates

Major stock indexes on Wall Street went down on Wednesday after the United States Federal Reserve's Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) decided to keep the rates unchanged at between 4.25% and 4.50%.

At 2:11 pm ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average traded 0.49% in the red or 234 points, while the Nasdaq 100 dropped 0.79% and the S&P 500 went down 0.82%.

The euro traded 0.28% lower against the American currency to change hands for 1.04019.
