Dow hits new all-time high on Fed's unchanged rates

The Dow Jones Industrial Average continued to collect gains during Wednesday's trading session to finally surpass its all-time high price of 36,952.65 following the Federal Reserve's decision to keep its key interest rate the same.

The Dow Jones jumped by 1.13% or 414 points at 2:56 pm ET to come in at 36,991.38. Several minutes later, it expanded by 426 points and surpassed 37,000 for the first time ever. A minute later, the Nasdaq 100 skyrocketed by 1.27% or 206 points, while the S&P 500 increased by 1.26%.

The euro advanced by 0.79% against the dollar at 2:58 pm ET to sell for $1.08822.
