Stock exchanges in New York City dived deeper into negative territory on Wednesday after data showed that consumer inflation in the United States climbed to 3% at the start of the year, coming above analysts' estimates.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 442 points or 0.96%. The Nasdaq 100 slumped 1.04% and the S&P 500 plummeted 0.97%.
The euro fell 0.35% versus the greenback, selling at 1.03264.
