Israeli strikes on two schools in Gaza City on Sunday resulted in the deaths of 25 Palestinians, with many more injured, according to the Palestinian Media Center and Al Jazeera Arabic.
Palestinian Civil Defence spokesman Mahmoud Basal called the bombings a "massacre" and reported that children made up 80% of the casualties, describing the aftermath as "difficult."
Earlier on Sunday, the Gaza Health Ministry updated the civilian death toll from to conflict to 39,583.
