The chief medical advisor of United States President Joe Biden, Dr. Anthony Fauci, reiterated his call for Americans to request the updated COVID-19 booster shot as soon as they are eligible to do so.
Dr. Fauci held on Tuesday what seems to be his last press conference in the White House since he will be retiring next month after a decades-long career. He was joined by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, and COVID-19 Response Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha.
Commenting on the vaccines' efficacy, Dr. Fauci cited the latest study published by the CDC earlier today that concluded the "benefit of the bivalent booster increased with time since receipt of the most recent monovalent vaccine dose."
