Polish President Andrzej Duda said on Monday during the meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in Warsaw that the conflict-hit country should become a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) if its people want it and that "if so, the alliance cannot hesitate."
Duda reiterated Poland's support for Ukraine's membership and assured Zelensky Kiev can count on Warsaw's favorable vote. He added he will convey that message during the alliance's upcoming meeting in Washington DC on July 9, 10, and 11.
Earlier in the day, during Zelensky's meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, the two countries signed a bilateral security agreement as Ukraine continues to undergo Russia's military campaign.
