Polish President Andrzej Duda stated on Wednesday that he told his United States counterpart Joe Biden that his country needs the number of the superpower's troops present there increased as soon as possible "in the event of any threat."
The two leaders previously discussed the relocation of certain US troops to Poland during Biden's visit to Warsaw the day before. Speaking on Wednesday to TVN24, Duda stressed the importance of Biden's appearance, saying it showed the US president is not afraid of going to places deemed dangerous to show support.
Duda also noted the severity of Biden's statement the entire North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) territory will be defended in case of emergency, describing it as a message to the entire world and "a very serious declaration. This is no joke these days."
