Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin stated on Thursday that if the country's assets are seized, Moscow will have a right to take corresponding moves against the states that have opted for such a move.

"Today, the German government has decided to shift the problems that their predecessors created onto our country. To this end, they plan to seize Russian assets to rebuild Ukraine," Volodin wrote on his Telegram channel, stressing that the moment the decision is made Moscow will be "entitled to similar actions against the assets of Germany and other states."

The Duma speaker underlined that in line with international law, "there are no arbitrary decisions, the rules must be the same for everyone...the same applies to the seizure of money and property."
