Durbin: Garland likely to be confirmed next week

United States Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin stated on Monday President Joe Biden's pick for Attorney General Merrick Garland would likely be confirmed next week, probably on March 1.

"We're hoping to have the markup in Judiciary next Monday and to have this on the floor that same week," Durbin said.

Earlier in the day, Garland stated at the hearing before Senate that, if elected, he would investigate the riots that took place in Washington DC on January 6.
