The foreign ministers of the E3 – Jean-Noel Barrot of France, Annalena Baerbock of Germany, and David Lammy of the United Kingdom – urged Israel in a statement made public on Wednesday to restart the entry of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
"Humanitarians must be able to deliver aid to those who need it most ... Hamas must not divert aid for their own financial gain or use civilian infrastructure for military purposes. ... Israel must do much more to protect the civilian population, infrastructure and humanitarian workers. ... Crucially, we urge all parties to return to a ceasefire," the three wrote.
Israel has repeatedly said it will not allow any aid to enter Gaza until a deal with Hamas is struck, as it does not want to help the organization.
