European Union storages of natural gas are "full" at 95% and the bloc is "safe for this winter," European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Friday.
Delivering a speech at the IISS Manama Dialogue in Bahrain, von der Leyen alleged that Russia "deliberately" cut off 80% of its pipeline gas deliveries to Europe, bringing "tectonic shifts in the energy landscape."
However, the bloc has managed to replace most of those quantities thanks to "reliable suppliers" and the EU is ending its reliance on Russian fossil fuels "for good," according to the leader of the European Commission.
