EC reportedly to approve membership talks with Ukraine

The European Commission intends to recommend EU member states start membership talks with Ukraine, Financial Times reported on Tuesday, adding that it will depend on the commission's evaluation of Kiev's reform progress.

According to the report, EU member-states will vote on the matter in December. It was also said that the vote would occur "only after Ukraine has adopted laws on political asset declaration and lobbying, anti-oligarchy measures and guarantees for national minorities."

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his belief that Kiev fulfilled all recommended steps for launching talks toward its EU accession.
