Member of the European Central Bank (ECB) Governing Council and Austrian National Bank (OeNB) Governor Robert Holzmann stated that any potential interest rate cut in the upcoming ECB meeting on Thursday, December 12, would be "moderate."
As published by Oberoesterreichische Nachrichten on Tuesday, Holzmann acknowledged that inflation trends have been moving as expected, though recent developments have seen some unexpected upward pressure.
His comments come a week before the next rate decision with the analysts speculating whether the ECB will choose a 25 basis points or 50 basis points rate cut.
