Liverpool Football Club (LFC) announced in a statement on Friday that its manager Juergen Klopp agreed to extend his contract with the club until 2024. LFC added that Klopp's assistant managers, Peter Krawietz and Pepijn Lijnders, have also agreed to continue their stay at the club.
"For anyone in football who aspires to compete in an environment where every element of the organisation is at its very best – from the support of the supporters to the vision of the owners – there can be no better place than this," Klopp, who became the club's manager in October 2015, said in the statement.
The German manager's most notable success came in May, as LFC won the Champions League under his leadership. He won the German Football Manager of the Year award three times and was named the Best FIFA Men's Coach this year.
