Austria’s presidential election re-run that was scheduled to take place on October 2 will be postponed, the country’s interior minister Wolfgang Sobotka said on Monday.

The postponement comes after some postal voters made complaints that seals on the ballot papers were faulty.

"We are going to request that parliament approves a postponement of the election," Sobotka said. He added new dates could be November 27 or December 4.

The re-run was ordered by Austria’s highest court in July after the original election result from May 22 was annulled.
