European Central Bank Governing Council member Joachim Nagel (pictured) said on Tuesday that discussing whether interest rates should be raised by 0.75 or 0.5 percentage points is not helpful.

A 50 basis point rate hike is still "strong," he told media in Frankfurt, before predicting that inflation in the Eurozone will remain high next year.

According to the Bundesbank president, inflation may not even drop near the 2% target in 2024.
