Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani (pictured) slammed Israel Monday for launching missile strikes on Damascus International Airport, killing four people, including two soldiers.
"The Islamic Republic condemns in the strongest terms the ongoing violations of Syria's sovereignty by the Jewish state and demands an end to these crimes," the diplomat said, speaking at a press conference in Tehran. The spokesperson called on the international community for more pressure on Israel to stop its "aggressive actions" against Syria and to respect "its sovereignty."
Earlier on Monday, Syrian state media reported the Damascus International Airport and its surroundings were targeted in an Israeli attack.
