ECB's Panetta: Conditions for rate cuts materializing

European Central Bank (ECB) Executive Board member Fabio Panetta (pictured) said on Thursday that the conditions to start easing monetary policy are "coming about."

The Italian policymaker pointed out during a speech in Rome that the ECB's "restrictive monetary policy is compressing demand and contributing, along with the drop in energy prices, to the rapid reduction of inflation."

Panetta further mentioned that the risks for price stability have diminished.
