European Central Bank (ECB) Governing Council member Francois Villeroy de Galhau called for "strong and quick" international cryptocurrency regulation.
In his speech in Tokyo, the official pointed to the most recent developments on the crypto markets, arguing that Europe cannot allow the dramatic declines of a "crypto winter" to add to its financial instability.
His comments come after the collapse of FTX, one of the most prominent crypto exchanges.
