Member of the European Central Bank (ECB) Governing Council and Bank of France Governor Francois Villeroy de Galhau remarked on Tuesday that the monetary policy and inflation are both in a "favorable zone" at the moment.

Speaking at the 2025 Paris Finance Forum, he stated that the ECB will continue to apply a "pragmatic" approach when it comes to interest rates, and will act according to the flow of the data. He added that the bank will be "as agile as necessary."

Talking about currencies, Villeroy noted that market volatility could potentially affect confidence in the United States dollar.
