China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin (pictured) criticized on Thursday the European Union's stance on Beijing's Belt and Road Initiative, adding that different investment strategies should "advocate inclusiveness and coordination."
During a regular press conference, Wenbin welcomed the bloc's Global Gateway plan, stressing that all initiatives aimed at helping the developing countries can be viewed as a positive development.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen praised the EU's strategy the day before and described it as "a true alternative" to China's strategic plan to invest.
