EU, China to 'intensify' talks on EV trade dispute

European Commission Executive Vice-President and European Commissioner for Trade Valdis Dombrovskis announced Thursday that he held a "constructive meeting" with Chinese Trade Minister Wang Wentao.

According to Dombrovskis, the two sides agreed to work closely and "intensify" efforts to find mutually beneficial solutions for electric vehicles compatible with the World Trade Organization. "This is without prejudice to the EU investigation and its deadlines," Dombrovskis said on X.

Previsoluy, ahead of his visit to the EU, the Chinese minister had said that he also was willing to work with the EU to find a solution that would be "acceptable for both sides."
