The European Council and the European Parliament announced on Saturday that they agreed on the European Union's budget for 2025. The budget's total commitments are set at €192.8 billion, with total payments of €149.6 billion. €800 million will be set aside for unforeseeable needs.
"We have agreed on a balanced budget that gives us the means to deliver on the EU's priority areas, while keeping the interest of taxpayers in mind," chief Council negotiator for the 2025 EU budget Peter Banai said. "Furthermore, the agreement provides the necessary financing for the reconstruction of countries affected by natural disasters."
