The European Council announced on Wednesday that it approved a second assistance measure under the European Peace Facility (EPF) worth €15 million to support the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF).
According to the Council, the assistance measure is dedicated to strengthening LAF's capabilities by "enhancing its military medical operations, as well as engineering and logistical operations." The Council also emphasized that the partnership between Lebanon and the European Union "remains high on the EU's agenda in the highly volatile and unpredictable regional security situation."
The first assistance measure adopted by the Council under the European Peace Facility was dedicated to the Armenian Armed Forces with the value of €10 million, and it was approved in July.
