The European Council announced on Wednesday that it approved a second assistance measure under the European Peace Facility (EPF) worth €15 million to support the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF).

The Council also emphasized that the partnership between Lebanon and the European Union "remains high on the EU's agenda in the highly volatile and unpredictable regional security situation."
