EU, UK to intensify Brexit talks next week

European Union's chief Brexit negotiator Maros Sefcovic and his British counterpart Liz Truss stated on Friday that their first meeting in 2022 "took place in a cordial atmosphere" and that officials from their respective teams will meet next week "in intensified talks."

Sefcovic and Truss also stated they will hold another meeting on January 24. "We share a desire for a positive relationship between the EU and the UK underpinned by our shared belief in freedom and democracy," the two added.
