The European Union unveiled a €1 billion aid package on Thursday aimed at bolstering Lebanon's "socio-economic resilience."
"Lebanon and its people can count on the EU's sustained support. This is why I'm pleased to announce a €1 billion package for Lebanon. It will contribute to the country's socio-economic resilience. And its overall security and stability," European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen posted on X.
Furthermore, Von der Leyen said during a press conference in Beirut that the EU will support the Lebanese Armed Forces with "equipment and training for border management" to stem the flow of undocumented migrants to Europe from the country.
