Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on Wednesday that his country received a €1 billion assistance tranche from the European Union as part of the Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration (ERA) Loan Initiative.
"We are grateful to our partners for supporting the economy and the rapid recovery of our country. We also addressed the use of frozen Russian assets. Ukraine counts on the EU's leadership in channeling these funds towards our recovery," Shmyhal said in a post on X after meeting with European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, Implementation and Simplification Valdis Dombrovskis to discuss Ukraine's macroeconomic situation and recovery amid the conflict with Russia.
Last month, Ukraine received £752 million from the United Kingdom as the first tranche using Russian frozen assets under the G7's ERA program.
