Meta Platform's WhatsApp must adjust its privacy policies with the European Union's consumer law by the end of this month or could face sanctions by member states.
The Consumer Protection Cooperation Network, backed by the EU, sent a second letter to WhatsApp asking for an explanation of its policy updates from last year, after the first answer from the company hasn't provided enough clarifications.
"WhatsApp must ensure that users understand what they are agreeing to and how their personal data is used for commercial purposes, in particular to offer services to commercial partners," the organization explained, while WhatsApp said it would respond to the letter.
