Czech First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Vit Rakusan (pictured) stated on Wednesday that Prague will ask the rest of the European Union to tighten the requirements for Russian citizens' passports and visas.
Rakusan said the bloc should demand all Russian citizens that want to enter it have biometric passports. He also called on Brussels to become stricter when it comes to issuing visas to the Russians but also ease the process of getting them for those politically persecuted by Moscow.
The minister's remarks come just as the EU imposed new sanctions on Russia in response to its recognition of the Donetsk (DPR) and Lugansk People's Republics' (LPR) independence from Ukraine.
