European Commissioner for Defense Andrius Kubilius said on Friday that the European Union is planning to send a "strong message" of support to Ukraine on Monday, which will mark the third anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine war. He said the EU must provide not only military support, but also help its EU integration and reconstruction, although he declined to provide details on the next support package.
"EU member states are clearly stressing that EU assistance to Ukraine will be continued despite what is happening in some other countries," Kubilius said. He explained the EU is taking "rational and practical steps" in determining how it can boost Ukraine's chances to achieve "peace through strength."
