European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced on Wednesday that the bloc is "tripling" the budget for "migration and border management."
"We are also tripling our investment in migration and border management, because Europe's borders are a shared responsibility and we are tripling the solidarity fund so that we can act fast and decisively when disasters strike," she added during her speech to unveil the new EU Budget for 2028-2034.
The official added that the budget proposal "for the very first time" allows member states to invest in EU targets for up to €150 million in EU goals, such as defense, energy, and tech.
